Berhampur: Police on Monday arrested a 42-year-old man for allegedly beating to death a 52-year-old farmer at Aswinipur in Ganjam district on Saturday night.
The accused, Mangala Sethi, was arrested while he was planning to flee after killing Satrughna Sethi, police sources said. Preliminary probe revealed the accused had allegedly assaulted Satrughna’s wife when she refused to give him money.“In order to take revenge, Satrughna went to Mangala’s home late at night. The accused, however, beat him to death,” said Sudhir Kumar Sahoo, IIC, Kabisurya Nagar police station.
