Arrest Made in East Champaran CSP Operator Murder Case | Patna News – Times of India

Motihari: One person was arrested Wednesday in connection with the murder of a 26-year-old customer service point (CSP) operator in East Champaran. Two more unknown associates of the main accused, identified as Samir Singh, are still on the run.
On Monday night, Anish Kumar, a CSP operator of a private finance company, was shot dead near the Semuapur bridge under Dumariyaghat police station. The miscreants looted the victim’s money and his motorcycle during the incident.
SP Swarn Prabhat said that Singh, a sharp-shooter, was picked up from Mathiya village under the Sangrampur police station area. “Singh is a history sheeter. He has been wanted in three loot cases in the district, and over one dozen cases were registered against him,” he said.
Singh told the police that he killed the CSP operator as the latter was resisting their loot bid, the SP said, adding, “After the interrogation of the accused, the police tried to recover the gun used in the incident when Singh opened fire at the cops. The police opened fire in retaliation, and the accused received bullet injuries in his leg.”
Singh, who had fled from a remand home of Araria three years ago, has been admitted to a hospital in police custody. The police seized the looted motorcycle, one pistol, two live cartridges and six empty cartridges in the case.
The other two accused in the case would be arrested soon, Prabhat said, adding, “A reward of Rs 25 000 would be given to the SIT team for arresting Singh within 24 hours of the incident.”
