Chennai: Diploma holders can earn up to 14,500 a month while studying a fully sponsored four-year training integrated BE Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Anna University‘s Kancheepuram campus. The university has opened applications for the programme on its portal. The last date to apply is June 30.
Students will spend three hours a day at the university’s Kancheepuram campus from Monday to Friday while undergoing eight hours of practical training at HL Mando Anand India Private Limited, six days a week. The entire course fee, including admission, caution deposit, semester fees, hostel accommodation, mess fees, transportation, and medical insurance, is fully covered in this programme.
“This provides an opportunity for diploma holders to get an engineering degree while working in the industry. Graduates will receive a BE degree from Anna University along with an internship training certificate from us,” said S Sarathi, joint managing director, HL Mando Anand India Private Limited.
In the first two batches, a total of 70 students studied for a BE degree under this programme. The admissions are likely to increase to 120 students in 2025-26. “The industry readiness and adaptability of BE, BTech students is low. This programme offers a scope for students to get trained in production, quality, basic maintenance, and industrial safety,” he added.
Students with a diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical, Computer Science Engineering, and IT with a minimum of 60% marks are eligible to apply.
Anna University is planning to offer similar training integrated programmes in areas such as semiconductors in partnership with the industry. “After finishing the degree, students will have many takers as they will have academic qualification and work experience. We are thinking of offering such programmes to create skilled manpower for semiconductor and other industries,” Anna University registrar J Prakash said.
