Koraput: Vigilance sleuths on Thursday arrested Renuka Pattanaik, an anganwadi supervisor in Koraput district’s Laxmipur block for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000. She was caught red-handed while receiving the bribe from a newly-appointed anganwadi worker. “Pattanaik had allegedly demanded the bribe of Rs. 50,000 threatening to disrupt the complainant’s smooth functioning if the demand was not met. Faced with financial constraints and unable to meet the hefty bribe demand, the complainant approached vigilance authorities,” the release stated. Upon receiving the complaint, the vigilance team laid a trap, resulting in Pattanaik’s arrest, it added.
