Mumbai: A month after the appointment of Vijay Wadettiwar as leader of the Congress legislature party, AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday appointed CLP office-bearers.
Four-term MLA Amin Patel will be deputy leader of CLP, ex-minister Amit Deshmukh is chief whip. Vishwajit Kadam and Sanjay Meshram have been appointed whips. Ex-minister Bunty Patil will be group leader in the council, Abhijit Wanjari will be chief whip, and Rajesh Rathod will be the whip in the Upper House.
AICC general secretary Ramesh Chennithala said though the strength of Congress has reduced, it will still take on the Mahayuti govt. “Our number may be low, but still Congress is a force to reckon with. We will work with determination for the cause of the people,” he said.
