Patna: Mohd Alamgeer, the vice-chancellor of Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabic and Persian University (MMHAPU), on Thursday announced here that all 137 madrassas across 38 districts in Bihar would be linked with the National Service Scheme (NSS) so that students be brought to the mainstream.
Addressing an orientation programme for the NSS volunteers of the university, the vice-chancellor said that all students must participate in physical activities, besides studies, to ensure an all-round development.
The regional director of NSS, Girdhar Pandey, who was the chief guest on the occasion, appreciated the active participation of the university students in the programme under the ministry of youth affairs and sports. He assured the university of all possible help in implementation of the NSS programmes in future.
He also launched a plantation drive, during which the participants planted a sapling each in the name of their respective mothers.
