Ajaz Khan, Ullu App owner summoned over obscene content in web show ‘House Arrest’ | Mumbai News – The Times of India

NEW DELHI: Mumbai’s Amboli Police have issued summons to actor Ajaz Khan and Ullu App owner Vibhu Agarwal in connection with the web show House Arrest, which is under investigation for alleged obscene content.
The police have already recorded the statement of Ullu App’s manager and have asked Khan and Agarwal to appear before the investigating officer to record theirs.
The Maharashtra State Women Commission (MSWC) has also stepped in, urging the National Commission for Women (NCW) and the state’s director general of police (DGP) to take strict action against online platforms hosting vulgar and harmful content. MSWC chairperson Rupali Chakankar said such shows negatively impact young minds and often resort to vulgarity to gain views.
A formal case has now been registered against actor Ajaz Khan, producer Rajkumar Pandey, and others linked to the show.
Last week, BJP MLC Chitra Wagh had called for an immediate ban on House Arrest, labeling its content as obscene and harmful to society, especially to children. Following the outrage, the NCW has taken suo motu cognisance of the matter, summoning both Khan and Agarwal on May 9 for allegedly coercive and vulgar scenes involving women.
Meanwhile, Ajaz Khan was booked by the Charkop Police in Mumbai after a woman filed a complaint accusing him of rape.
The woman alleged that Khan sexually assaulted her after promising marriage and a role in his web show.
As per the complaint, Ajaz invited the woman to host his show House Arrest, which streams on the Ullu app. During the shoot, Khan proposed to her and later promised to marry her after converting to her religion. The complaint also alleges that the actor invited her to his home, where he sexually assaulted her.
Police have registered the case under sections 64, 64(2)(M), 69, and 74 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
