BENGALURU: Asia’s largest aerospace exhibition, Aero India 2025 at Air Force Station Yelahanka, will have significant improvements, organisers said Tuesday. The ministry of defence, which laid out details of pre-event preparations, said the event features enhanced infrastructure including widened approach roads, free AC Volvo shuttle services, and expanded exhibition halls.
Security measures have been bolstered with anti-drone systems and multi-agency coordination. Visitor experience improvements include better ventilation, additional food courts, and medical facilities. A dedicated mobile app will provide real-time updates and navigation assistance. The event emphasises sustainability with e-karts and comprehensive waste management, while facilitating business networking and indigenous innovation showcases.
Here’s what to expect:
Enhanced infra & traffic management
MoD has coordinated with IAF, Karnataka state govt, and various agencies to improve access to Air Force Station Yelahanka. Approach roads have been widened, and real-time traffic monitoring is in place. Free Volvo AC shuttle buses operate from multiple locations — Hebbal, KBS-Majestic, Shivajinagar, Kengeri, ITPL, Banashankari BDA Complex, Vijayanagar TTMC, Orion Mall, Rajajinagar Bus Stop, and Infosys Campus, Electronic City. Joint aerial surveys have helped identify and address choke points.
Security & emergency preparedness
Red drone zones have been designated and published, with countermeasures in place to tackle unauthorised drone activity. Rapid Mobile Units will be deployed strategically to provide quick assistance and emergency support. Continuous mock drills with multiple agencies are being conducted to ensure practical and implementable contingency plans.
Visitor experience enhancements
To enhance the experience for exhibitors, business delegates and visitors, the exhibition area has been revamped with several key upgrades:
■ Expanded & better-ventilated halls to accommodate more exhibitors and visitors comfortably
■ Improved seating and rest zones throughout the venue
■ Additional food courts & refreshment kiosks, including Indira Canteens (at parking areas)
■ Enhanced wayfinding and signage for easier navigation
■ Lost & found counters and ATM kiosks for visitor convenience
