Patna: ADG (traffic) Sudhanshu Kumar on Friday warned against rash driving on national highways, as it has been causing an increasing number of fatal accidents in the state. Data analysis for the 2020-23 period shows that while Bihar ranks 14th in terms of total road accidents on national highways, it is seventh in terms of fatal accidents. The state also holds the second position for the number of deaths per 100 accidents and accidents per 10,000 vehicles on national highways.
The ADG (traffic) also cautioned against drunk driving and urged drivers to adhere to prescribed speed limits.NHPV personnel have been instructed to prevent passenger overloading and take action against illegal parking along national highways.
