'Accessed private chats, forced into wall chair, beaten with belt': Criminal case against three MBBS students for ragging junior in Telangana hostel
They forced the junior student to endure physical punishment, accessed his private photos and videos without consent, and blackmailed him. The police are investigating, and the college’s Anti-Ragging Committee will convene on April 2.

HYDERABAD: A criminal case has been registered against three MBBS students of Government Medical College, Nagarkurnool, following a complaint by a junior student alleging humiliation and physical harassment.
The victim was asked to act like he was sitting on a chair against the wall (wall chair pose). He was then asked to lift an LPG gas cylinder. Police said the incident occurred on March 25 in the college hostel.
According to the police, some second year students called the junior to another hostel room. When the victim went to the room, there were two second year students and one third year student. The three seniors made him do ‘wall chair’ pose while also making him lift a gas cylinder.
The accused also forced the victim to open his fingerprint-locked phone, and they accessed his private chat and photo gallery. “When the victim stopped doing the pose due to the pain, he was beaten up with a belt. The seniors shared the victim’s private photos, and also threatened to send them to his father and other people,” police said.
The junior informed his family, who alerted the local police. Upon receiving the complaint, police visited the college and informed the management. The accused students were counselled and warned by police and the college administration, and they were let off.
