NAVI MUMBAI: Despite the Kharghar traffic police unit installing traffic signals at the junctions opposite the former Daily Bazaar outlet in sector 20, Kharghar, and near Tawa Hotel along the stretch of road from Utsav Chowk to Central Park to prevent traffic snarls, some undisciplined motorists, bikers, and autorickshaw drivers are violating traffic rules by jumping the red traffic signal and risking vehicle collisions.
The reason is that there are no traffic police deployed at these two locations, allowing those violating traffic rules to escape being served e-challans.
When contacted, DCP (Traffic) Tirupati Kakade informed that upon receiving the verbal complaint, traffic police have been deployed at these two locations, and those caught blatantly violating traffic rules will be penalised.
