Patna: With just five days left for the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy-2024 to start at the Rajgir Sports Complex, the Nalanda district administration declared it a ‘no-fly zone’ to bolster security and law and order in the area.
A total of six teams are participating in the 10-day international hockey tournament, which begins on Monday. The teams are from China, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand and India.
“In view of the upcoming Women’s Asian Champions Trophy-2024, the entire Rajgir Sports Complex has been declared a ‘no-fly zone’ to maintain security and law and order,” a press statement issued by Nalanda DM Shashank Shubhankar said.
Under this prohibitory order issued under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code-2023, flying drones or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or similar devices in the sports complex premises remains strictly banned until the tournament concludes on November 20. “If there is a need to fly a drone, permission must be obtained from the competent authority under the Drone Act-2021, and the undersigned must be informed,” the order issued on Tuesday said.
The DM also directed the local PRD officials to widely publicise this order. The order will remain in force from the morning of November 11 till the November 20 night.
Meanwhile, the Indian hockey team paid a visit to the glass bridge at Rajgir on Wednesday. During the tour, all the players of the Indian hockey team were very excited to have their photos taken with the trophy on the glass dridge, constructed by the Bihar govt.
The Indian hockey team appreciated the excellent efforts made by the state govt to promote tourism in Bihar.
