Excise Asi Dismissed For Graft | Bhubaneswar News
Bhubaneswar: Excise commissioner Narasingha Bhol on Thursday dismissed assistant sub-inspector Sudipta Kumar Das from govt service for his alleged involvement in corruption. Das was arrested by the vigilance in Sept last year on allegation of possessing properties disproportionate to his known sources of income.
“As per the govt’s zero tolerance to corruption, we dismissed him for abusing his official position.In the last one year, six excise personnel have been dismissed from govt service,” a senior excise official said.
As per the department data, at least 24 excise personnel of different ranks have been placed under suspension in the last one year on different allegations such as dereliction of duty, manipulation of case records in order to grant favour to accused, abusing official position, demanding money from accused in NDPS cases, abysmally poor performance and long unauthorised absence.
