Bhubaneswar: Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated with exuberance and grandeur in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack and across the state on Saturday, with various organising committees, communities and households taking part in the festivities. Various puja committees in Bhubaneswar, especially those in Saheed Nagar, Bapuji Nagar, Nayapalli and Patia, among others, have constructed magnificent pandals.Cuttack is also not lagging in worshipping Lord Ganesh with utmost devotion. Educational institutes were also adorned in vibrant hues, contributing to the festive ambience. “We seek Lord Ganesh’s blessings for every endeavour we undertake. I hope he blesses us wholeheartedly,” Sweta Acharya, a devotee at Saheed Nagar, said.
Apart from the larger pandals, several communities especially in the slums, set up their own miniature pandals for Ganesh. At Salia Sahi, Tarini Basti and Telugu Basti, the slum dwellers created exquisite pandals.
At several places, the idols have been crafted from eco-friendly materials. In addition to the rituals, many committees also organised cultural events at various pandals in the evening hours.
