Bhubaneswar: Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, along with Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi and MLA Babu Singh, inspected ongoing developments under the Ekamra project in the old town on Monday.
The delegation first visited the project site near Sanitorium Square. The visit included a review of the project’s progress and discussions with officials from the Odisha Bridge and Construction Corporation.Harichandan emphasised the need to expedite project activities to attract more tourists.
According to an official statement from the BJP, the Ekamra project aims to attract tourists through various developmental activities around the sacred Bindusagar and Lingaraj Temple areas in Bhubaneswar. TNN

Development panel reviews key projects

Tripunithura Rajanagari Union of Residents’ Associations requests local authorities to fast-track stalled projects, including the inauguration of a public-funded shopping mall. The group, Trura, also demands timely execution of motor vehicles departments resolutions and the construction of a recreational centre with toilet amenities at Kizhakkekotta. They plan protests if no response is received soon.

Rail bridges to be constructed over four rivers in Cuttack, Bhubaneswar
The Railways are set to construct four new bridges over the Birupa, Mahanadi, Kathajodi, and Kuakhai rivers in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. This project, part of the third line expansion between Bhadrak and Vizianagaram, encompasses a 22-km stretch and costs approximately Rs 1000 crore. The initiative aims to enhance rail capacity and reduce current congestion issues, with a two-year completion target.
