MVA staring at poll defeat, says Shinde | Mumbai News – Times of India
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
CM Eknath Shinde hit back at Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) over their protest march against the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue collapse incident, saying the people of Maharashtra are going to ‘jode maro’ (hit with slippers) the opposition in the assembly elections. Claiming that MVA’s jode maro andolan is driven by political motives, Shinde said on Sunday: “The election race is near, MVA has started to see their defeat, that’s why they are protesting.” Shinde also announced that Thane Municipal Corporation will construct a Rs 150-crore memorial dedicated to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Kanhoji Angre.
