Heavy Rain: Heavy Rain Alert in Multiple Districts for the Next Three Days | Bhubaneswar News


Bhubaneswar: Most parts of the state are likely to receive heavy rain for the next three days under the influence of a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal, which became more well-marked on Friday. All schools and anganwadi centres in Koraput and Gajapati districts remained closed on Friday due to the possibility of heavy rain.
IMD issued an orange warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall between 70 mm and 200 mm and thunderstorm with lightning at isolated places in Malkangiri, Koraput and Nabarangpur districts on Saturday.An orange warning of heavy rain was also issued for Gajapati, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada and Nabarangpur districts on Sunday. IMD said widespread rainfall will continue in other districts as well.
Contrary to IMD’s prediction of likely downpour in southern districts, most parts of the state did not witness any major rainfall on Friday. Baripada recorded the highest rainfall of 11.2 mm on Friday. TNN
