‘Anganwadi, Asha workers eligible for Subhadra scheme’

Bhubaneswar: State govt on Friday announced that anganwadi workers and helpers, Asha workers and community resource persons can apply for benefits under the Subhadra Yojana.
The women and child development department also issued a toll-free number — 14678 — for giving out information about the scheme.
The number will be operational from 6 am to 10 pm. During the period, anyone can call on the toll-free number to get related information of the Subhadra scheme.
Anganwadi workers and helpers, Asha workers and community resource persons can apply for benefits of the scheme provided they are eligible as per the guidelines issued.
According to the guidelines, women who are receiving assistance of at least Rs 18,000 under any state or central govt scheme like pension and monthly stipend or any other such benefits will not be considered eligible for the scheme.
Eligible beneficiaries will get Rs 5,000 each on Raksha Bandhan and International Women’s Day. This way, over 1 crore eligible women beneficiaries will be given Rs 50,000 over five years. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit the state to launch the scheme on Sept 17 on his birthday.
