Sodomy: Man sentenced to 10 years’ RI for sodomy | Bhubaneswar News
Sambalpur: A Pocso court in Sambalpur on Thursday sentenced a man to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment for the sodomy of an 11-year-old boy earlier this year.
The convict was identified as Suman Pradhan (28). He is a resident of a village under Rairakhol police station limits in Sambalpur district.
According to the prosecution, the incident took place on May 23 when the minor boy, along with his two friends, was plucking mangos from the garden of panchayat office when Suman forcibly took him to a desolate place and sodomised him.
His friends rushed home and informed the villagers, including the sarpanch who reached the spot and caught hold of Suman. But he managed to escape.
Thereafter, the boy was rescued by the villagers. He was taken home and his parents, who were working, informed. Once they came to know of the matter, the parents registered a complaint the same day.

An 11-year-old boy in UP’s Saharanpur has been apprehended for allegedly raping a 4-year-old girl who was alone at home. Medical examinations confirmed the assault, leading to charges under the Pocso Act. The boy has been sent to a juvenile home, and the victim is reportedly stable.
