Railway Exhibition Showcasing Partition Horrors | – Times of India

Patna: The East Central Railway (ECR) on Wednesday observed the ‘Partition Horrors Remembrance Day’ (Vibhajan Vibhishika Smriti Diwas) at different stations falling under jurisdiction of the ECR. To mark the day, ECR GM Chatrasal Singh felicitated a freedom fighter Nand Deo Prasad and jointly inaugurated a photo exhibition at the ECR headquarters in Hajipur.
“The exhibition has a collection of rare pictures, news clippings and news articles published during that period, shedding light on the ‘horrors of partition.’ The younger generation will learn more about the history behind pangs of the partition,” Singh said, adding that the exhibition showcased sacrifices of the countrymen to achieve freedom from the shackles of British colonialism.
The railways also organised photo exhibitions at several major stations to make people aware about the importance of August 14, 1947, which witnessed a horrific saga of human migration, manslaughter and immense sufferings.
