Online Contests: Online contests for jail inmates | Bhubaneswar News

Berhampur: For the first time, Berhampur circle jail conducted five competitions for prisoners from 23 jails across seven districts in virtual mode. The competitions were held in song, quiz, debate, dance and visual art.
“There are several talented prisoners who don’t get a chance to showcase their talent. Hence, we conducted these competitions,” said D N Barik, senior superintendent, Berhampur circle jail.
“This will also instil a sense of achievement among inmates and encourage them to participate in other correctional initiatives, which will help them lead a good life after being released,” he added. At least 30 male prisoners from jails in Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Boudh, Nayagarh, Puri and Khurda districts took part. TNN
