21-year-old woman found hanging in Purnia hotel room | Patna News – Times of India
Patna: The body of a 21-year-old woman from Araria was found hanging in a hotel room on Jail Road in Purnia under the Sahayak Khazanchi police station area on Tuesday. The incident came to light around noon when hotel staff used a duplicate key to enter the room after receiving no response from inside.
Upon opening the door, the staff found the woman, identified as Nisha Rani, hanging from the ceiling fan.The manager and police were immediately informed. Sadar subdivisional police officer (SDPO) Pushkar Kumar and local station house officer (SHO) Shashi Kumar Bhagat arrived at the hotel with their team and an FSL team was called to investigate further.
Pushkar said Nisha Rani from Ward 9, Verma Colony, in Araria, had checked into the hotel on August 4 with a male companion. They were scheduled to check out by 11am on August 6. When no one exited room 304 by the expected time, the hotel staff entered and found Nisha’s body.
“The girl died by suicide and left a note blaming her boyfriend for her decision. She also apologized to her family for any pain caused,” said SDPO Pushkar Kumar.
“Police reviewed CCTV footage and retrieved copies of Aadhaar cards submitted by Nisha and her boyfriend during check-in to aid their investigation. The footage showed the boyfriend last seen at the hotel on Monday night around 9.45pm. He knocked on the door and called Nisha several times. After receiving no response, he looked through the keyhole and immediately left,” Pushkar said.
