Pilgrimage with MSRTC during Shravan; services commence from Monday | Mumbai News – Times of India
MUMBAI: The MSRTC announced it will launch a new service from Monday called ‘Pilgrimage with ST in Shravan’ at depots to facilitate travel to pilgrimage to various religious sites during the Shravan month.
This initiative will allow senior citizens and women to enjoy pilgrimage trips either for free or at a nominal cost. MSRTC managing director Madhav Kusekar has urged passengers to take maximum advantage of this initiative.
During Shravan month, numerous religious events are held at various locations. Consequently, many citizens plan trips to pilgrimage sites with their families. Each ST depot will organize one-day or overnight religious tours during the Shravan month, offering various discounts, a spokesperson said. Senior citizens celebrating their platinum jubilee will travel for free, while other senior citizens, women, and children under 12 will benefit from a 50% concession.
Women’s self-help groups, senior citizen associations, and various service organizations are taking the lead in organising these group tours. Pilgrimage sites like Trimbakeshwar, Bhimashankar, and Marleshwar, along with Ashtavinayak, Nrusinhawadi every Thursday, Audumbar every Saturday, and Maruti Darshan are part of these religious tours.
