Two more arrested in jewellery heist case | Patna News – Times of India

Patna: City police on Friday arrested two more persons in connection with the Rs 2-crore jewellery heist from a showroom in Purnia district on July 26, taking the total number of arrests to 10.
Based on the inputs from the state’s Special Task Force, Navneet Kumar from Hathidah in Patna district and Ayush Kumar from Digha in the state capital were arrested for allegedly creating fake Aadhaar Cards for the gang involved in the jewellery heist.

Police said Navneet had allegedly taken a contract from Shivam, who is lodged in city’s Beur Jail — where the conspiracy was hatched — to create fake Aadhaar Cards. Ayush, the manager of a photo studio, allegedly edited and created four fake Aadhaar Cards.
During a raid at the studio, police recovered 38 Aadhaar cards, a hard disk, an SSD drive, two smartphones and pen drives of different memory sizes.
City superintendent of police (central) Chandraprakash said Shivam is a close associate of Subodh Singh, the mastermind of a gang involved in gold heist in five states. “Shivam had sent the details of the criminals to Navneet via an instant messaging app to create the fake Aadhaar cards,” the city SP said, adding that with the help of the FSL team, the seized items are being investigated for further clues. “The investigation is still on,” he said.
