Valuables worth ₹10L stolen from Phulwarisharif house

Patna: Valuables worth over Rs 10 lakh, including ornaments, cash and a television, were stolen from a locked house at Chuharmal Nagar in Phulwarisharif police station area of the city in early hours of Sunday.
House owner Sohan Paswan was out of station, even as his alert neighbours managed to nab one of the burglars, and police managed to recover some of the stolen items.
According to police, when the neighbours heard a noise from the house in the early hours of Sunday, they raised an alarm and managed to nab Raju Paswan. Police said the neighbours also informed the house owner about the incident, following which he, along with his family, came back to Patna on Sunday noon.
According to the house owner, after he returned home, he found the main lock of the house broken, and his home ransacked. Ornaments, Rs 10,000 cash, expensive clothes and a television set were stolen by the miscreants, he said.
Investigating officer, sub-inspector Shambhu Kumar Yadav said that police recovered the stolen TV set and several sarees from the hideout of the criminals on the basis of the statement of the arrested accused.
An FIR has been lodged in the case with Phulwarisharif police, assistant superintendent of police (ASP) Vikram Sihag said, adding efforts are on to arrest other criminals involved in the burglary.
