Man injured after ceiling plaster collapse in Maharashtra's Thane
A man was injured as ceiling plaster collapsed in a hazardous 50-year-old building in Kopri, Thane, leading to evacuations and area cordoning.

THANE:A man sustained an injury after the ceiling plaster in his room collapsed in Thane’s Kopri locality in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The incident occurred at 4.05am in a flat of a four-storey building that is 50 years old and classified as C-1, meaning it is most dangerous and requires evacuation and demolition, according to Yasin Tadvi, chief of Thane Municipal Corporation regional disaster management cell.
“A 27-year-old man, Suraj Solanki, was injured and is hospitalised. The building’s columns have developed cracks. The remaining part of the structure too is in a dangerous position. Fire brigade and RDMC personnel carried out relief operations,” Tadvi stated.
Two other occupants of the room were shifted to safety following the incident. The entire area around the building has been cordoned off as a precautionary measure.
Some weeks earlier, ceiling plaster had fallen in another room of the same building, another official mentioned.
