Minister vows action on solid waste management irregularities | Patna News – Times of India

Those responsible won’t be spared, says minister

Patna: Reacting to the CAG report detecting large-scale irregularities in solid waste management in the state, minister for urban development and housing department (UDHD), Nitin Nabin, said that he had not gone through the entire report. “I am trying to know all the details before we act against the guilty people,” the minister told TOI over the phone on Friday, adding that the officials responsible for the irregularities would not be spared.
The minister informed the state government would hold a seminar in August in Patna to know about the best practices and successful models about the solid waste management in the country before his government prepares a policy of its own.
“Representatives from some 10-15 states will attend the seminar. Participants from Japanese embassy will also join the seminar. Our effort will be to know the best practices and prepare guidelines for Bihar,” Nabin said, adding that they had already begun homework in this direction.
“We will understand the successful experiments in other states (about solid waste management) and implement them in accordance with the environment of our state,” the minister said. He further informed that the Bihar would be divided into 21 clusters as a part of this plan.
