Berhampur: The special vigilance court in Ganjam district’s Berhampur on Tuesday sentenced a former assistant engineer (estimator) of the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation (RWSS) department in Paralakhemundi, to three years of rigorous imprisonment for accumulating ill-gotten assets. Arun Kumar Sahu, the judge of the court, has also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on the accused, identified as Narayan Panda, who is now retired.If he fails to pay the fine, he will undergo an additional three months of rigorous imprisonment.
