Railway safety inspection on Patna-Kiul route | Patna News – Times of India
Patna: Danapur divisional railway manager (DRM) Jayant Kumar Choudhary made a window-trailing inspection by a special train on the Patna-Kiul section of the Danapur division under the East Central Railway (ECR) to take stock of the condition of rail bridges located on the route on Thursday.
Choudhary told this newspaper that rail bridges become more vulnerable during monsoon.“The railway safety staff, related to bridge and track maintenance, have been strictly warned to keep a close vigil on the track condition on the rail bridges so that movement of traffic operations are not hindered,” he said.
He inspected the Kiul bridge number 136, along with a team of technical experts, and found the condition and upkeep of the bridge satisfactory. “Kiul has been an interchange point for all passenger and goods trains passing through this station, thus, its safety is very important,” he said.
The DRM also inspected the station redevelopment work at Lakhisarai being developed under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. He directed the officials concerned to complete the major component work of the station within the deadline fixed by the Railway Board in the current fiscal 2024-25.
Choudhary later inspected the rail bridge number 163 located between Baraihya and Rampur Dumra stations, a Danapur railway official said, adding that the DRM interacted with the track-maintenance staff at the Rampur Dumra about the problems being faced by them.
