MUMBAI: A labourer was killed and two others were injured in a cave-in at an under-construction building at Malad East on Friday. Dindoshi Police confirmed the casualties.
The incident occurred around 1.15 pm at Pratap Nagar at Amity Developers’ SRA project construction site near Western Express Highway. Police said the labourers were working on the basement.They were excavating when one side of the excavated area caved in due to rain.
Fire brigade officials said four labourers were trapped of which three labourers were rescued and one managed to escape. The trio was rushed to Trauma Care Hospital where one of them succumbed to his injuries.
