Patna: Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday inspected the tunnel being constructed to link the Bihar Museum with Patna Museum in the state capital here and asked the officials to expedite the construction work.
Accompanied by deputy chief minister-cum-art, culture and youth department minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, the CM also inspected renovation and expansion work of the Patna Museum as well as the progress of construction work under the Patna Metro Rail Project.
First the CM reached near the Bihar Museum and inspected the progress of work of the tunnel. Bihar Museum’s director general Anjani Kumar Singh informed the CM in details about the arrangement of entry in the museum through the tunnel, plan of parking and other facilities to be provided to the visitors.
During the inspection, the CM asked the officials to complete the tunnel at the earliest, so that the visitors would have enhanced convenience in visiting both the museums through the tunnel. Nitish further said a large number of visitors tour both the museums every year and they would have convenience once the tunnel is completed. The footfall of tourists would also increase after the completion of the tunnel, he said.
While inspecting the Metro Rail Project, the CM enquired about the progress in construction of different stations and status of overall works. He asked the officials to complete the metro project at the earliest as per its work plan, so that people could get the benefit of the rail project as early as possible.
Principal secretaries to the CM Deepak Kumar and S Siddharth, the secretary to the CM Anupam Kumar and many other senior officials were present during the inspection.
