Bhubaneswar: IPS officers DS Kutey and Ravi Kant, who were considered among the most influential officers in the previous BJD govt, were transferred and posted as officers on special duty in the home department on Monday.
Kutey, a 1997-batch officer, was posted as special secretary in the CMO during the BJD rule. He was suspended on the direction of the Election Commission of India (ECI) on May 29 for allegedly interfering in the election process.The EC fixed his headquarters during the suspension at the Officer of Resident Commissioner, New Delhi.
A home department order said his suspension was revoked with immediate effect pending initiation of disciplinary proceedings. The ECI recommended revocation of his suspension on June 6.
Ravi Kant, a 1998-batch IPS officer, was resident commissioner, New Delhi. Vishal Gagan, a 1998-batch IAS officer, who is currently posted as special secretary, Odisha Investment and Export Promotion Office (OIEPO), New Delhi, has been given additional charge as the state’s resident commissioner there.
