MUMBAI: Mumbai: The death toll in the Ghatkopar hoarding crash incident of May 13 touched 16. Late on Wednesday night rescuers clearing the debris found two bodies who were later identified as Manoj Chansoria, 60 & his wife Anita Chansoria,59.
The couple, traveling in a red colour Tata Harrier car en route to Jabalpur, were in the midst of refueling when the incident occurred said his former colleagues who were at the crash site on Wednesday.
Manoj, a retired general manager from Air Traffic Control (ATC) since March 31, 2024 was accompanied by his wife on their journey back to their hometown.
A colleague of his from ATC said that Manoj had gone to Jabalpur after his retirement and returned to Mumbai for personal work few days ago. “He was living in the ATC guest house and on Monday was to go back to his hometown again. We found out about him only on Tuesday when his son who was trying to reach him could not get in touch. We tried to track his mobile location and it showed this petrol pump,” said a colleague.
