Man shot dead overillicit affair

Patna: A 35-year-old man, Anjeet Kumar, was shot dead by bike-borne criminals in Itwa Doghara village under Bihta police station area in Patna district Friday morning. The incident sparked outrage among locals, who demanded the arrest of the culprits. Police officers, including Danapur SDPO-2 Pankaj Kumar Mishra and Bihta police, rushed to the spot and pacified the agitated crowd.According to police, the incident was related to an illicit affair of the deceased with the accused’s sister.
Cops said Anjeet was the son of Ramadhar Yadav and a resident of Itwa Doghara village. He had gone to plough his agricultural field in the morning when the incident took place. The family members have filed a written complaint against three named persons from the same village.
Danapur SDPO-2 Pankaj stated, “The deceased’s sister gave a statement that the accused had come on a bike and shot Anjeet. She was also in the field just a few meters away from the scene. She had identified the culprits. They are siblings.”
SDPO said Anjeet’s wife had died due to an illness about five years ago. He has three children. The family first denied any dispute or enmity of the deceased with anyone. During the preliminary investigations, it was revealed that Anjeet had lured the sister of the accused and had physically exploited her on the evening of July 10 near the bank of the river Ganga on the outskirts of the village, he said.
