Other rivers, including the Bagmati, Kamla Balan, Mahananda, and Parman, were also flowing above danger levels at various points. The Bagmati breached the danger mark at Benibad and Runni Saidpur in Muzaffarpur district, according to the Central Water Commission (CWC). The water discharge from the Valmikinagar barrage has decreased from a high of 2.54 lakh cusecs on Monday afternoon to 1.47 lakh cusecs in the last 24 hours. Similarly, the water discharge from the Birpur barrage has reduced from 2.25 lakh cusecs to 1.83 lakh cusecs in the same period.
However, the rainfall received in the catchment areas of the north Bihar rivers in Nepal was average, resulting in an increase in water release from Nepal, from 1.39 lakh cusecs on Monday to 1.66 lakh cusecs on Tuesday.
