Launch of cab services in Gaya and Bodh Gaya | Patna News – Times of India
Gaya: Tourists and devotees visiting Gaya and Bodh Gaya will soon have access to online car rental services provided by companies like Ola, Uber, Rapido, and Sawari Mithila.
At a virtual meeting held at the Indian Institute of Management-Bodh Gaya (IIM-BG) on Saturday, state transport secretary Sanjay Kumar Agarwal urged these companies to launch online taxi rental services in Gaya and other districts of the state as soon as possible. He also instructed the district transport officer to offer necessary support to these companies.
At the meeting, Agarwal expressed concern over the lack of safe transportation facilities for tourists and devotees visiting the twin cities. “Gaya district holds special importance for national and international tourists, besides pilgrims from abroad who visit in large numbers throughout the year.
Despite having educational institutes and training centres like IIM-BG, the Central University of South Bihar, BIPARD, the Officers’ Training Academy, and a training institute for forest service officers, online car rental services have not been available here,” he said.
Agarwal added, “Online car rental services are very beneficial and safe for domestic and foreign tourists and pilgrims, including women travelling alone. The service can be accessed with one click on a cellphone. It is available in Patna and will soon be expanded to other cities.”
