Freshers advised to set high goals and prepare for future challenges | Patna News – Times of India
Patna: The three-day orientation programme for the newly admitted students of Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya (IIM-BG), in the current academic session (2024-25), concluded here on Sunday. As many as 496 students, including 302 of MBA, 92 of MBA-DBM and 11 of the Ph D programmes, were inducted into this premier institute.
IIM-BG director, Vinita Sahay, said that the newcomers joining the management programmes were from various disciplines, including engineering, arts, commerce, accountancy, banking, physical and life sciences, mathematics, hotel and tourism management, agriculture, pharmacy, law and architecture.“This diverse composition of students reflects IIM Bodh Gaya’s commitment to academic diversity,” she said
Addressing the freshers, state’s transport secretary, Sanjay Kumar Agrawal, said students must visualize the purpose of their study and fix their goal in life. “One should always aim high and try to scale that height through their hard work and strong will power,” he said, adding that IIM-BG has been doing commendable job in educating the youths from all over the country and grooming them into good managers.
Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, Kamal Nath , CEO of Sify Technologies, discussed the impact of AI on industry, noting that the rapid changes driven by AI have widened the gap between acquired skills and demand skills. He urged the students to prepare themselves for future challenges as well.
Prominent among others who addressed the newcomers were Siddharth Satpathy of CAMS, Vivek Jha of Novartis India, Sunil Thakur of Quadria Capital, Gautam Kumar of McKinsey & Company, and Navneet Nilendra of International Art of Living.
