Man dies after being thrashed for theft attempt | Patna News – Times of India
Patna: A man, Kunal Ram (30), who was allegedly assaulted in Naubatpur area in Patna district on Saturday night, succumbed to his injuries on Sunday morning.
Police said Kunal had entered into the house of one Vikki Kumar (32) in Naubatpur on Saturday night with the intention to commit a theft. However, he was caught by Vikki and beaten up badly. Later, he was thrown in a nearby bush.
Police added that the local villagers found Kunal on Sunday morning and rushed him to the hospital for treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries there. On receiving information about the incident, the police arrested Vikki.
Naubatpur SDPO, Deepak Kumar, said Vikki was inside his home with his wife when Kunal entered the house with the intention to commit a theft. “On hearing a sound, Vikki woke up and caught hold of Kunal and thrashed him badly. Then he threw Kunal in the nearby bush,” the SDPO said.
“Police are interrogating Vikki for further information. The forensic team also visited the spot to assist in the investigation. The walls of Vikki’s house have blood stains, suggesting that Kunal was beaten there,” the SDPO added.
Naubatpur SHO, Rajnish Kumar, said a murder complaint was filed against Vikki by the deceased’s family members.
