Lalu predicts fall of Modi government by August | Patna News – Times of India

Modi govt to fall by Aug, says Lalu

Patna: RJD president Lalu Prasad on Friday said the Narendra Modi-led NDA government at the Centre was “weak” and it could fall any time, as early as August.
“The Narendra Modi govt which came to power after this year’s Lok Sabha elections is “very weak” and it could fall anytime…as early as August,” Prasad predicted this while addressing a function organised in the RJD office to mark its 28th foundation day on Friday.
He asked the party workers to be prepared for such a scenario and highlighted that in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, the RJD had increased its seat count and also vote share as compared to last poll. “For quite some time, we have been the single largest party in the Bihar assembly. Unlike many others, we have never compromised on ideology,” said Prasad.
Reacting to Lalu’s remark, state BJP spokesperson Manoj Sharma said nothing is going to happen to the Modi government. “Cattle do not die from crows cursing,” Sharma said, accusing the RJD president of compromising with ideology to ensure they remain in power.
Lalu’s younger son and former deputy CM Tejashwi Prasad Yadav made similar observations, claiming the NDA govt at the Centre wouldn’t complete five years in office. “The people who used to call INDIA bloc weak got a befitting reply, as the BJP missed the majority mark. Had we got a few more seats, Modi government wouldn’t have been in power,” Tejashwi said.
Taunting the BJP, he said the saffron party had coined the slogan of “Abki Baar 400 Paar” but what happened in the LS elections is for everyone to see. “The present Modi govt is the weakest in the country,” Tejashwi said, as he claimed to form the next government in the state.
“The formation of RJD government is certain after the next assembly polls. Whether the elections are held in 2024 or in 2025, the RJD sure to come to power,” Tejashwi said, exhorting the party men not to miss this opportunity. “We will uproot the present NDA government in the state,” he declared.
He also announced to give tickets to party loyalists in the upcoming elections. “Now is the time to get rid of turncoats. We will give tickets to only those people who stayed with the RJD and served it for a long time,” he said, describing RJD as an “A to Z” party.
