Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) will send its machines used for sanitation work to Puri ahead of Rath Yatra on July 7.
The civic body will send two cesspool vehicles for deployment between July 6 and 20, besides four vehicle-mounted fogging machines to control mosquito menace in Puri. The Puri district administration has also urged BMC to provide mobile toilets, which have proved to be a success during several big events in the capital city.City health officer has been asked to coordinate and arrange the required machines and despatch them to Puri on time, BMC officials said.
Manaranjan Sahu, BMC deputy commissioner (sanitation), said unlike previous years, they have not been asked to deploy sanitation personnel. “The Puri civic body will perhaps arrange additional sanitation personnel from local sources,” said Sahu. He added, “If they ask us to depute some field personnel, we may consider the proposal.”
