Patna: The Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) will likely start its new academic session (2024-25) on July 15.
According to the academic calendar released by the university for its postgraduate (PG) programmes, the new session will commence with an orientation programme on July 15.
The university has admitted students to its postgraduate programmes based on the CUET-2024 results.The entrance tests were conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in March.
CUSB’s public relations officer (PRO) Mohd Mudassir Alam told this newspaper that as many as 992 students have so far been admitted against 1,196 sanctioned seats in 28 postgraduate academic programmes after the completion of the third round of admission. “The university will now be releasing the fourth cut-off list by this week for the final round of admissions,” he said.
The courses to which the successful students are being admitted include data science and applied statistics, artificial intelligence (AI), biotechnology, bioinformatics, environmental science, life science, geology, geography, mathematics, pharmaceutics, pharmacology, physics, chemistry, statistics, commerce, journalism and mass communication, psychology, sociology, social work, economics, political science and international relations, history, English, Hindi, education, law and physical education. The university is also admitting students to a one-year PG diploma course in yoga.
“However, due to delay in the CUET UG 2024 results by the NTA, there may be some delay in the start of the new academic session for 18 UG programmes, including 13 newly launched integrated academic courses,” the PRO said, adding that there are altogether 638 seats in CUSB’s UG courses.
