Brace for rail blocks on Central, Western Railway today | Mumbai News – Times of India


MUMBAI: The Central Railway‘s Mumbai division will operate a megablock on its suburban sections to carry out various engineering and maintenance works today, which will inconvenience commuters. The block will affect the Up and Down slow lines between CSMT and Vidyavihar from 10.55 am to 3.25 pm.
The Up slow services departing from Ghatkopar between 10.41 am and 3.10 pm will be diverted to the UP fast line between Vidyavihar and CSMT Mumbai stations and will halt at Kurla, Sion, Matunga, Dadar, Parel, and Byculla stations.
On the Harbour line, the rail block will occur between CSMT and Chunabhatti/Bandra from 11.10 am to 4.40 pm. Special services will run between CSMT Mumbai-Kurla and Panvel-Vashi sections during the block period. Harbour line passengers are permitted to travel via Thane-Vashi/Nerul stations until 6 pm during the block period.
On the Western Railway, to carry out maintenance work of tracks, signalling, and overhead equipment, a jumbo block of five hours from 11am to 4pm will be carried out on the Harbour lines between Mahim and Goregaon stations today. During the block period, all Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) – Bandra – CSMT & CSMT/Panvel – Goregaon – CSMT/Panvel Harbour train services of Central Railway and some of the Churchgate – Goregaon – Churchgate Slow services will remain cancelled.
