Three cops held for snatching Rs10L from man | Patna News – Times of India
Gaya: Three Gaya district constables were arrested on Thursday for their alleged involvement in snatching Rs10 lakh from a person here.
Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Ashish Bharti has suspended the arrested constables and initiated departmental action against them.
The SSP said, “Following a case lodged with civil lines police station on Wednesday by one Ravi Kumar of Suryapura under Bodh Gaya police station, three constables—Vikram Kumar deputed at town hall for EVM security, Ujjawal Kumar of STF (operation), and Sanjeev Paswan of dial 112 service—were arrested.Ravi alleged that the three cops had snatched Rs10.4 lakh with help of their associates on Tuesday.”
Bharti said the three accused had trapped Ravi by returning Rs70,000 against Rs50,000 taken from him around six months back. “Again they asked Rs 10lakh from him and assured that they would return Rs 15lakh for the money. But when Ravi reached near gate no. 10 of Gandhi Maidan, they snatched the cash and escaped.”
