Helpline: Deputy CM Pravati Parida Test-Calls Helpline Number During Department Review | Bhubaneswar News
Bhubaneswar: Deputy chief minister Pravati Parida made a test-call to 181 — the state helpline number for women in distress — while conducting review of the women and child development department. After receiving a prompt and satisfactory response from the helpline staff, Parida expressed her contentment on its functioning. The review meeting continued till late on Wednesday evening.
In addition to checking the helpline’s functionality, the minister also directed department officers to draft a comprehensive guideline for the implementation of the Subhadra Yojana within 100 days of the new govt. This ambitious scheme, aimed to empower women across the state by providing vouchers worth Rs 50,000, was announced by BJP in its election manifesto. These guidelines will include detailed exclusion criteria to ensure that the benefits reach the most deserving candidates.
“Subhadra Yojana is a significant step towards financial independence for women in Odisha. By setting clear guidelines, we aim to make the scheme transparent and accessible,” Parida said.
Parida had a detailed discussion with the departmental officials about the implementation of various programmes and advised the staff to reach the grassroots. She suggested to resolve the issues with the partnership of various departments.
Emphasising the infrastructure development of all Anganwadi centres of the state, Parida directed the department to provide regular training and insurance facilities to members of the Anganwadi. She also directed regular inspection of the preparation, hygiene and quality of chhatua and other food served in the Anganwadi centres. “Strengthening Anganwadi centres is crucial for the well-being of mothers and children. We need to ensure these centres are well-equipped and effectively managed,” she added.
