Man lynched on suspicion of practicing black magic in Khagaria

Khagaria: A 42-year-old man was allegedly lynched by co-villagers on suspicion of practicing black magic at Ratnaha village under Alouli police station in Khagaria district on Thursday night.According to police, the incident occurred at ward number 3 of the village where miscreants, who were reportedly 20 in number, entered the house of one Etwari Sada accusing him of practicing black magic and mercilessly beat him to death. After killing him, the miscreants also thrashed his wife and minor daughter, and later threw his body into a river. The police, however, recovered the body from the river bed on the basis of the statement of one Joginder Sada and his wife Manju Sada of the village. “Leela Devi, wife of the deceased, has lodged a named FIR against 14 persons, and five unidentified people in this connection,” said SP Rakesh Kumar, adding that all the accused named in the FIR have been arrested.
