Mumbai: A 38-year-old transwoman has lodged a police complaint against her uncle for assaulting her with a knife and issuing rape threats. Goregaon Police have registered an FIR and are probing further. The complainant lives in Goregaon East with three other transwomen. Her 55-year-old unclde lives at Goregaon West. According to her complaint, the house where her uncle lives previously belonged to her father. She has alleged that her uncle managed to get the property transferred in his name. Currently, the structure is undergoing redevelopment. On May 31, the complainant and one of her roommates visited her uncle’s place. The complainant asked for a share in the property once it was redeveloped. This sparked a dispute between her and her uncle. She has alleged that her uncle picked up a knife and stabbed her in the back. He then allegedly kicked her and issued rape threats. She later took medical treatment for the injury.
