2 injured in indiscriminate firing at Ara’s Zero Mile | Patna News – Times of India

Ara: Two persons, including a 65-year-old businessman, were injured in an indiscriminate firing by three bike-borne miscreants at Zero Mile of Ara in Bhojpur district late on Monday evening, barely a day after a similar incident reported in the area on Sunday night. Angry over two consecutive days of firing in the area, the local residents blocked Ara-Sasaram main road on Monday night.
According to eyewitnesses, the miscreants on Monday first fired at two shops owned by the 65-year-old businessman, Siya Ram Singh, who, along with his son, was also present at one of the establishments. Singh, a resident of Maula Bagh locality under Nawada police station of Ara, sustained a bullet injury in the lower part of his abdomen, while his son escaped unhurt, according to an eyewitness.
The criminals then entered an aluminium shop and shot at a staff, identified as Pappu Kumar (27), a resident of Kaup village under Charpokhari police station of Bhojpur district. Pappu sustained a bullet injury to his left arm.
Both were taken to a local clinic where they were operated on to remove the bullets. Dr Vikash Singh, at whose private clinic both are under treatment, said the bullets have been removed from both the patients. The bullet had got stuck in the left side of Pappu’s chest, piercing his left arm, the doctor added.
Superintendent of police Pramod Kumar told the media persons on Tuesday that a special police team, led by Sadar SDPO, ASP Parichay Kumar, has been formed to investigate into the incident. “The police are examining the CCTV camera footage to ascertain the identity of the culprits,” he said.
