SC collegium names AK Singh as Telangana HC CJ | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: The Supreme Court collegium, headed by CJI BR Gavai, on Monday recommended the transfer of Tripura HC Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh as the chief justice of Telangana high court. His parent high court is the Jharkhand high court. Born on July 7, 1965, Justice Singh studied at the Delhi university and obtained BA Honours and LLB, got enrolled and started practice at the Patna high court in 1990. Later, he moved to the Jharkhand high court in 2001 and practised there as an advocate till his elevation as judge of the Jharkhand high court in Jan 2012. He was appointed as executive chairman of the Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority in April, 2021. He was appointed as acting chief justice of the high court of Jharkhand between Dec 20, 2022 and Feb 19, 2023. He was elevated as chief justice of the high court of Tripura on April 17, 2023. Upon approval from the central govt, his transfer would be notified by the Union law ministry.
