No daytime block on Western Railway suburban section in Mumbai today | Mumbai News – Times of India

MUMBAI: Western Railway (WR) gave relief to suburban commuters by deciding not to carry out a daytime jumbo block on Sunday.Instead, essential maintenance work was completed during the late-night hours to minimise inconvenience to passengers. To facilitate maintenance of tracks, signalling, and overhead equipment, a jumbo block was conducted for three and a half hours. The Up fast line was shut from 11.30 pm on Saturday to 3 am on Sunday, and the Down fast line was blocked between 1.15 am and 4.45 am on Sunday, affecting the section between Bhayandar and Borivali stations. WR’s chief spokesperson Vineet Abhishek said, “During the late night block, all fast line trains were run on the Up slow line between Virar/Vasai Road and Borivali stations.” “Due to block some local trains were cancelled,” he added.
