BRS mulls involving Harish to pacify Kavitha | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: The BRS leadership may involve former minister T Harish Rao to pacify BRS MLC K Kavitha, who raised some points about BRS supremo and former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s speech at the party’s silver jubilee public meeting in Hanumakonda district last month. Kavitha, who spoke to the media on Friday night, stated there were ‘demons’ around KCR and ‘coverts’ in the party. Although there were speculations that she would meet her father KCR on Saturday, she neither received any call from KCR to meet her, nor did she go to Erravelli, KCR’s farmhouse, on Saturday. While KCR is yet to react to his daughter’s comments on his speech, KTR told the media there is internal democracy in the party and anyone can give their feedback. However, he made it clear that the party’s internal issues should be discussed in internal forums only and not publicly, and that applies to all leaders, irrespective of their position in the party. There is a mixed response from the party leaders over Kavitha’s remarks. Some say the issues and points raised by her, such as ‘inaccessibility’, are true, while others say she should have spoken with her father personally as it could harm the party. Sources in the party said that Kavitha is looking for a bigger role in the party’s regular and mainstream activities in the future as she is currently confined to Telangana Jagruthi. She has been taking up activities through her Telangana Jagruthi on the issues of ‘social justice in Telangana’, 42% reservations for BCs, and the installation of a Mahatma Jyothirao Phule statue in the assembly. BRS top leaders did not attend the programmes of Telangana Jagruthi, like dharnas and round tables on BC reservations and other issues. Kavitha enjoys support from BC leaders, who said she has been fighting for ‘social Telangana’ and will help the party in the upcoming elections. BRS senior leader V Prakash, on a television channel, commented that leaders always prefer to write their suggestions to KCR as they cannot talk to the ex-CM due to his stature, and he would not allow others to speak.
